Winter Workshops  
   The Muse group is a laboratory to spark creative expression, an opportunity to treat yourself to a regular infusion of art play in a supportive group setting. Each session features a different painting or art technique which you can add to your repertoire - from textured collage to a variety of wet media painting techniques.

 Art Journaling  
Learn an art practice which captures your thoughts, feelings and intuitions in a playful visual format that you can keep as an ongoing book of your life. Using inks, water based paints, collage and written word we follow our initial flow, then move into guided reflection to develop art pages which are a timely expression of personal truth.

Barbara Myrom holds a B.A. in the Fine Arts, is founder of the Peninsula Watercolor Group, and has exhibited and taught drawing, painting, intuitive arts and stress reduction in a variety of settings. She began doing portrait commissions in the late sixties, and worked as a portrait artist at San Francisco’s Grant Avenue Street Fairs and Fisherman’s Wharf.

There are many ways to create a self-portrait. In this class, we’ll explore creative portraiture techniques using a variety of approaches and artistic media, including pencil, pen & ink, charcoal, soft pastels, and collage. She was a six year participant in Artrails and is the winner of numerous awards from national and local juried shows.

The emphasis of these classes is to support each student in developing their own style and help them to achieve their personal art goals.
This is not a beginner class. Techniques, design and composition will be reviewed in lectures but the main emphasis of this class will be that each student will be guided and encouraged to paint in their own personal approach to watercolor. No material list will be needed. Students will choose their own paints, paper and brushes.

POURING LIGHT

Experiment with masking, then pouring and blending watercolors right on the paper. Accent with high contrast and negative painting for light effects. $75.
