"I worked as a ceramicist for twenty years before I decided to explore watercolor as an artistic medium. So different from clay and glazes, I love the immediate way watercolors interact on the paper, the colors mingling and flowing together. I just touch a brush to paper and have full range of gorgeous juicy color. From my work with clay I retained the belief that the art is better if I control the medium only to a certain degree and let the freshness of the medium express itself as well. I strive to reach a compromise wherein both the paint and I have a say. I love to paint the faces of nature in plants, animals and landscapes. I often choose a very close perspective.
